The Library Media Center Computer Lab is Now Open

Good News! Our Library Media Center computers have been fully installed for teachers and students usage. Class groups can be scheduled for group computer visits. The library schedule is planned one week in advance for proper planning and a chance to collaborate projects. Ms. Cortes should be informed of projects or activities that students will be participating in so that she can prepare prior to their visit. There should also be a student learning objective with every library visit.
Pre-planning is essential in helping to maintain the library as a learning environment. The first class group visit must be an orientation because students need to have some understanding of how the collection is categorized in order to help them find information. Although many classes have already participated in the library curriculum and orientation, Ms. Cortes welcomes all teachers and students to continue their participation in the library media center.
Please be aware that during 4th-8th periods there may be students using the library during their lunch period as well as whole-class groups. Before sending individual students to the library, all teachers should call first.
Reminder: all students using the library must have a signed library contract and a parent internet permission slip on file in the library.
Mr. Williams facilitates parent involvement within the school community by working with the school Principal, school leadership team, PTA, and various community groups. Mr. Williams is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for parents withing the school.
