FLU PREVENTION GUIDELINES

As you are probably already aware, the Flu Virus is spreading at a very high rate.  Please keep the following guidelines in mind.  For more detailed instruction on how to keep yourself, your classmates and your family safe, Click to visit the CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION website, where you can learn much more.

  • Get a flu vaccination – It can provide immunity to about 2/3 of the active strains of the virus this season.  The flu vaccination is available at no charge to students through the Morris Heights Health Clinic.  Visit the clinic in room 142 to get a registration form and make an appointment to get the shot.  Staff will be provided with the shot on February 13th from 9am to noon.  Cost for staff is $10 if it is not covered by your insurance plan.
  • Wash your hands regularly – using soap and water.
  • If you must cough or sneeze, do it into the sleeve or shoulder of your shirt to prevent the virus from becoming airborne
  • If you are sick – STAY AT HOME!  It is a better decision for you to miss a day of school than to infect your classmates and building staff.
