Culinary Students Compete for “America’s Best High School Chef”

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.49.17 PMBRONX, NY – On Saturday March 5, Seven Truman Culinary students competed at Monroe College for America’s best High School Chef and Pastry Chef Competition. Our pastry competitors Chynalee Pabon, and Erika Ortiz both finalists each won a $12,500 scholarship to attend Monroe College in the fall.

Sheldon Davis won Second place in the overall culinary competition winning a $38,500 scholarship to Monroe College. Out of 8 finalists in the competition, 3 were from Truman, Heidy Mota, Kinara Joseph, and Lakeema Dupreee all made the Finals each winning $12,500 in scholarships.
