Media Students Take Top Honors at SNY

BROOKLYN, NY – The SportsNet New York (SNY) Future Filmmakers Festival was held on June 5th in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn.  At the event, Truman’s Media Program had three finalists – two short films and one public service announcement.

In just their first year entering the festival, the program took two of the top honors.

First place went to senior Moses Perez, who was assisted by senior Angie Torres, for his short film entitled, “Just Like Jason.”  Second Place went to sophomore Jose Pagan, who was assisted by senior Abel Alexander.  Perez took home prize winnings of $3,500 while Pagan won a check for $2,500.  The PSA, entered by Torres, did not win – however it was screened at the event and featured as a finalist in the category.
