Ensembles Perform at Co-Op “Bronx Week” Event

CO-OP CITY- Students in three Truman ensembles, the Concert Choir, the Creative Expressions Modern Dance Team and the MetroChords Male Acappella group hit the stage at the Co-Op City Community Center for a live performance on May 16th. The public performance came just a week before the school’s annual Spring Concert event, slated for Thursday, May 23rd at 7pm.

The event also marked the public debut of Truman’s brand new all-male acappella group, The MetroChords. The group tried out two of their 50′s doo-wop songs. Performers Gear Up for Spring Concert

BRONX – Singers, dancers and musicians are sweating it out – pushing through the final week of rehearsals leading up to their annual Spring Concert, set for May 23rd. The curtain rises at 7pm in the Maye A. Shaw Auditorium inside Truman High School. A Night at the Orchestra

NEW YORK – “Do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?” is a popular riddle, typically answered with the punchline, “Practice, practice, practice…” but thanks to the Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation, several students in our after-school music and media club’s got to Carnegie Hall by yellow school bus.

They went to see the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as part of Carnegie’s “Spring for Music” program. For a complete review of the concert, check out the New York Times Article here.
