To All Staff:
What a wonderful day Saturday was for our Truman family. Despite the cold and clouds, we witnessed two well-played football games, the crowning of a Homecoming King and Queen, enjoyed the sounds of the Mustang Pep Band, and were treated to a delicious feast by the Culinary Arts Department. Special thanks to the coaches whose efforts have resulted in two undefeated football teams and to all of you who attended the games. Seeing all of us come together to support our students is yet another reason to be proud of Truman.
Go Mustangs!

Greetings!!!
It is with pleasure and pride that I share the following positive accomplishments and good news.
The Truman Robotics Team will present at the annual New York Kick-Off Meeting this month. They are presenting on how to maintain an engineering notebook, which is key to all research and development in the industry. The team coaches, Mr. Castillo and Ms. Jacobson, have attended extensive training—the team’s goal is to make the final competition in Georgia as they have won the THINK award two years in a row.
Under the supervision of coordinator, Ms. Joyner, the BuildOn Club (formerly Building With Books) participated in two weekend clean-ups at Van Cortlandt Park in September.
The Mustangs varsity football team, led by Head Coach Shepherd and Assistant Coach O’Hara, is off to a great start this season (6-0). The JV football team, led by Coach O’Brien, also remains undefeated (4-0) both undefeated this year. Homecoming game doubleheader is Saturday October 17th as varsity plays at 11 am and JV plays at 1 PM.
Congratulations to Ms. De Los Santos and Ms. Roman for their participation in a summer program that allowed them to train Dominican teachers on how to work with inner-city students. Ms. De Los Santos and Ms. Roman also dined with the president of the Dominican Republic as part of the program.
These few highlights are just a sampling of our wonderful news. I look forward to sharing in all of our successes together in the coming months.
