Final Learner’s Permit Information Session Set for February 4th

BRONX, NY – Harry S Truman High School students will have one final opportunity this academic year to prepare for their journey toward becoming licensed drivers. The Truman Library has announced its last Learner’s Permit Information Session, scheduled for Wednesday, February 4, at 2:30 PM.

The program is open to all students aged 16 and older who are interested in taking the New York State Learner’s Permit exam. These sessions serve as a vital resource, guiding students through the application process, study requirements, and exam expectations.

Ms. Elizabeth Devora, the school librarian and program coordinator, emphasized the school’s commitment to providing students with practical life skills that extend beyond the classroom.

“Providing this program in the school library is about more than just a test; it’s about accessibility and empowerment,” said Ms. Devora. “For many of our students, obtaining a learner’s permit is a major milestone toward independence. By hosting these sessions here, we ensure every student has the information and confidence they need to succeed.”

Due to high demand and the physical constraints of the Library, seating for the session is limited. Interested students are required to register in advance. Registration can be completed by scanning the QR codes located on promotional flyers posted outside the Library doors or by visiting the official Library website.

Students who previously attended an information session during the last school year are informed that they do not need to attend this final meeting. For any additional questions regarding the exam or the registration process, students are encouraged to visit Ms. Devora in the Library during school hours.
